Das Musée d’’Orsay [ arte TV ]

Für die deutsche Übersetzung aus dem Französischen ist Jörg Ohnacker verantwortlich. Und die ist gut. Sehr gut. So gut, daß diese Doku mit exquisitem poetischen, französischem Charme keiner Inhaltsangabe bedarf; einzig sachlich erwähnenswert scheint, daß die Generalsäuberung, die Renovierung des d’Orsay inhaltlich der Ankerpunkt der Dokumentation ist. Jedes Bild ein Photo wert — immer wieder erneut so sehenswert als Doku, wie ‘Casablanca’ als Kinofilm !

 

Ein Hochgenuß, diese Dokumentation.

This is a televised version (for french & german co-op station ‘arte‘) of a DVD that can be ordered from the Musée d’Orsay’s Shop, or here. To my knowledge, there has been no english adaption of it for display on TV — unfortunately, tho it is a docu, in fact more like an essay of outstanding quality about the train station which was turned into the world renowned museum of Impressionism; the very museum that did yield what few dared hoping for when the Jeu de Paumes in the Tuleries was shut down — when it stopped functioning as the Temple of the Impressionist’s Arts we did love so much tho packed out 24/7 — if only it were open and not closed, so often, due to the many state visitors who received the outstanding honour of being entertained there …

 

post scriptum : the Jeu de Paume has had to suffer great deal under NAZI occupation and the vulgar Vichy lot — much like the Hotel Meurice only few metres away on the northern ped walk of the Rue Rivoli. Still, these days, quite a sorrow emo that evolves when entering either the Jeu de Paume or the Meurice even tho me, long time to go, wasn’t born, nor me ancestors ever made it from the Massif Centrale up north to the cultural hotspot of the Arts …
